Message From The President Chapter of The Future Update - June 2012 As many of you have heard and or read in the news GBTA is in the process of re-evaluating the aspects of GBTA’s Chapter of the Future. As we have shared we have spent many hours and had much discussion as to where DFWBTA needs to be. GBTA has formed a task force that is currently in discussions as to what this may look like for us in the coming years. DFWBTA has made no formal changes in how we are currently affiliated with GBTA, and it's still business as usual. Our goal has been and always will be to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our members. Once GBTA rolls out these changes we will share them with all and be able to discuss how this will impact our Chapter in the Future. If you have any questions with regards to this please feel free to reach out and contact me direct or any member of the Board. We are here for you and appreciate your patience as we learn about the changes potentially taking place in the coming year. Karen Wilson-Torres Brand Director Travel Industry Sales Gaylord Hotels _______________________________________________________________________________ Chapter of the Future Update - April 2012 The year has gotten off to a great start and its hard to believe Spring is already here.  The DFWBTA Annual Golf Tournament is already less than a Month Away – May 7th – Don’t Miss out. I would like to address briefly some communication you may or have not seen in the news regarding the changes taking place within GBTA.  GBTA and its affiliate Chapters have begun a very important transformation into the project “Chapter of the Future”. This project will bring, we believe, a new energy and collaboration with GBTA like never before. This is a major initative and like all things will be complex and not all changes will be immediately visible to our membership or the GBTA membership. Many parties are involved in the transformation and probably one of the most visible will be the web site. Our new and improved web site is about to get even better as we will begin to transform to a more consistent and single platform that will ultimately create a synergy between the GBTA global site and DFWBTA. This is a step in the broader initiative to enhance content, value, best practices and improving efficiency and cost across the organization. In the spirit and commitment of communication we will post and distribute a letter to our membership outlining at a very high level the vision and goals of this initiative. Please take the time to review and ask your board questions as this process evolves. This ultimately is for you the membership and to that end we look forward to working together to bring new change. Your board will publish a timeline of those changes most visible to the chapter as we progress through this process and stay tuned as we will shortly announce which meeting will serve as more formal rollout of the “Chapter of the Future”.As always we appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you all at the great events planned this Spring!
