It’s Election Time!

The 2011-2012 Board of Director Elections are coming up in October. If you are interested in running for one of the six elected positions, check out the BOD Election tab. The six elected positions are:

· President – must be an NBTA member

· Vice President

· Secretary

· Treasurer

· Direct Representative – must be a direct member

· Allied Representative – must be an allied member

All nominations must be submitted to the nomination committee by September 1^st. The nomination committee is chaired by Jane Ellen Graham and supported by Stacy Collins, direct member and Rob Fugett, allied member.

NBTA 2010 Convention Recap

The NBTA reported increased attendance over last year at its International Convention & Exposition – the Business Travel Event of the Year. More than 5,800 corporate travel professionals from 40 countries, including more than 1,200 travel buyers, this past week to attend over 65 ground-breaking education sessions and visit with more than 400 exhibitors on the Expo floor.

NBTA President & CEO Craig Banikowski, said, “The general consensus at this year’s Convention was clear – business travel is coming back! Many attendees reported increasing levels of travel, and they came to the convention to learn about the latest industry trends in a new economy and network with the largest gathering of corporate travel professionals in the world. Corporate travel drives economic success, and when travel professionals are making connections and making deals, it’s a sure sign we’re on the way to recovery.”

Founded in 1970’s, Dallas/Ft. Worth Business Travel Association (DFWBTA), an official chapter of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA), provides an important forum for the exchange of information, education and ideas among its members, who include representatives from local corporations and leading travel industry suppliers.
